English Boss legal document
ENGLISH BOSS TERMS OF SERVICE AND USE
Version 1.1 — effective 28 August 2026
1. Service provider
1. The English Boss platform is provided by English Boss sp. z o.o., with its registered office in Lubin at ul. Leśna 6, 59-300 Lubin, Poland, entered in the Register of Entrepreneurs of the Polish National Court Register (KRS), maintained by the District Court for Wrocław-Fabryczna in Wrocław, 9th Commercial Division of the National Court Register, under KRS No. 0001255897, NIP (tax identification number) 6922551332, REGON 545303939, with share capital of PLN 10,000.00, hereinafter “English Boss” or the “Provider”.
2. The service is available in particular at englishboss.org and related subdomains.
3. Contact: support@englishboss.org, telephone +48 693 989 839. Complaints may be submitted to the same email address unless a separate complaints address is displayed on the website.
4. These Terms govern the electronic services, use of the platform, user accounts and educational content.
2. Nature of the platform
1. English Boss is an online English-learning platform. It may provide lessons, exercises, revision tools, tests, exams, dictionary and grammar resources, progress tracking and other educational features available from time to time.
2. The platform is continuously developed. The number, sequence, presentation and scope of individual content items or features may change due to updates, quality corrections, security, product development or legal requirements. English Boss does not guarantee a fixed number of tasks, lessons or other items unless a specific number is expressly guaranteed in an individual agreement.
3. At launch, DEMO content is limited to the first 10 lessons of Unit 1 at each of the A2, B1 and B2 levels. A teacher DEMO account retains all teacher functions, while access to educational materials remains subject to this content limit until teacher Premium is activated.
3. Types of access
1. Individual access may be offered in particular as:
a) PLN 29.90 for 30 days — a one-time access plan that does not automatically renew;
b) PLN 299 per year — a recurring annual subscription until cancelled.
2. The final price, taxes, currency and available payment methods are shown before the order is placed at checkout. Not every payment method is available for every product or country.
3. A private teacher keeps all teacher functions from account creation. Full access to the complete material library is activated automatically when at least 10 linked students hold active Premium access, or while the teacher has an active recurring subscription at PLN 299 per month.
4. Access for schools, educational institutions, businesses and other organisations is generally governed by a separate B2B agreement. If these Terms conflict with an individual B2B agreement, that agreement prevails.
4. Payments through Paddle
1. The online order process for paid access is conducted through our reseller Paddle.com. For orders processed by Paddle, Paddle is the Merchant of Record and handles payment collection, applicable transactional taxes, sales documentation, refunds and transaction-related buyer support under Paddle's terms.
2. English Boss remains the provider and licensor of the educational platform and is responsible for product functionality, content and product-related support.
3. Use of the platform, account and English Boss content is governed by these Terms. A purchase transaction processed through Paddle is also governed by the current Paddle Buyer Terms and Paddle Refund Policy presented to the buyer.
4. Before an order is placed, the buyer is shown the product, total price, whether the payment is recurring (where applicable), and the payment methods available for that transaction.
5. User account
1. Users must provide truthful, current and appropriate account information.
2. Users must protect their login credentials and must not share an account with unauthorised persons. An account may be used only by the user or by persons for whom it has been lawfully created under an applicable family, teacher or school model.
3. Circumventing security measures, access limits, authorisation mechanisms or other technical restrictions is prohibited.
4. English Boss may temporarily suspend or restrict an account where there is a reasonable suspicion of a security incident, abuse, unlawful use, intellectual-property infringement or a material breach of these Terms. Where reasonably possible, the user will be informed of the reason and any available remediation steps.
6. Minors
1. Paid access must be purchased by an adult with legal capacity to contract or by another person authorised under applicable law.
2. A parent or legal guardian may purchase access for a child and is responsible for the lawful creation and use of the child’s account.
3. Where processing of a child’s personal data is based on consent and applicable law requires parental or guardian authorisation, English Boss may require such consent or verification. Where consent under Article 8 GDPR is the legal basis, consent for a user under 16 may need to be given or authorised by the holder of parental responsibility.
4. Student accounts created through a school may be subject to additional rules arising from the agreement with that school and its legal obligations.
7. Technical requirements
1. Use of the platform requires an internet-connected device, an up-to-date web browser and, for selected features, audio playback capability.
2. Users are responsible for their device, internet connection and software updates.
3. Some features may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, failures, infrastructure providers or events outside English Boss’s reasonable control.
8. Intellectual property and permitted use
1. Platform content, including texts, tasks, databases, course structure, graphics, audio materials, branding, technical solutions and other elements, is protected by intellectual-property rights owned by English Boss or its licensors.
2. Users receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the content only as necessary for learning or teaching within the scope of their lawful access.
3. Teachers may print materials to which they have lawful platform access and use them in their teaching activities with their students. This does not grant the right to sell the materials, publish complete databases, build a competing product or distribute materials to unauthorised persons.
4. The “Founding School” name, status or logo may be used only after the relevant agreement with English Boss has been signed and in accordance with that agreement.
9. No scraping, bulk extraction or AI training
1. Without English Boss’s prior written permission, users must not:
a) automatically download, scrape, crawl or bulk-copy content beyond ordinary human use;
b) reproduce or extract a substantial part of databases or systematically extract their contents;
c) circumvent rate limits, authorisation, security, anti-bot measures or export limits;
d) use English Boss content to create datasets, benchmarks, embeddings, models, generative-AI systems, language models or other machine-learning systems, including for training, fine-tuning, distillation or evaluation;
e) redistribute, sublicense or commercially exploit materials outside an expressly granted licence.
2. English Boss expressly reserves reproduction and extraction rights for text and data mining (TDM) to the extent such rights may lawfully be reserved. This reservation does not exclude mandatory exceptions or rights that cannot be waived by contract.
3. Ordinary indexing of publicly available pages by search engines may be permitted to the extent technically authorised by English Boss.
10. User content and conduct
1. Users must not submit unlawful content, content infringing third-party rights, malicious code or data they are not authorised to provide.
2. The platform is not intended for storing special-category personal data or confidential data unrelated to learning. Users should avoid entering such information in Writing answers, notes or other free-text fields.
11. Subscriptions and cancellation
1. The student PLN 299 annual subscription and teacher PLN 299 monthly subscription renew automatically for successive billing periods until cancelled.
2. Cancellation can be made in accordance with instructions available in the account, purchase confirmation or Paddle buyer portal. Cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
3. After effective cancellation, the user will not be charged for the next billing period.
4. The student PLN 29.90 / 30-day access is a one-time purchase and does not automatically renew.
12. Withdrawal, refunds and conformity
1. Detailed cancellation, withdrawal and refund rules are set out in the separate “Refund, Cancellation and Withdrawal Policy”.
2. Transactions processed by Paddle are also subject to the Paddle Buyer Terms and Paddle Refund Policy.
3. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits mandatory consumer rights, including rights relating to the conformity of digital services with the contract.
13. Complaints
1. Complaints concerning the operation of English Boss may be submitted to support@englishboss.org.
2. Where possible, a complaint should include the account email, a description of the issue, the date and information allowing the issue to be reproduced.
3. English Boss will respond without undue delay and generally within 14 days unless mandatory law provides a different period.
4. Matters relating solely to a Paddle payment, receipt, invoice or transaction refund may require contact with Paddle support.
14. Changes to the platform and Terms
1. English Boss may update the platform and these Terms for valid reasons including changes in law, payment model, security requirements, feature development, prevention of abuse or clarification of rules.
2. Changes do not remove rights already acquired. For material changes affecting an ongoing paid service, users will receive appropriate prior notice where required by law or the nature of the change.
15. Liability
1. English Boss provides the service with due care and does not exclude liability where such exclusion would be unlawful in relation to a consumer.
2. English Boss does not guarantee any particular exam, school, professional or language-learning result. Learning outcomes depend on factors including regularity, usage and individual circumstances.
3. For non-consumer users, liability may be subject to additional limitations contained in a separate B2B agreement.
16. International availability
1. English Boss may be made available to users in multiple countries. Availability of the website does not guarantee that purchasing is available in every country.
2. Product availability, checkout, currency and payment methods may depend on Paddle availability, technical restrictions, local law, sanctions or other legal obligations.
3. Schools, educational institutions, companies and other organisations outside Poland may be required to enter into a separate agreement prepared for the relevant jurisdiction.
17. Governing law and language versions
1. The relationship between the user and English Boss is governed by Polish law, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in the user’s country of residence.
2. A Polish version is provided for Polish consumers. The English version serves as the international version. Where mandatory local law requires information in another language, those mandatory requirements prevail.
3. The payment transaction with Paddle is additionally governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms.
18. Final provisions
1. If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent permitted by law.
2. These Terms are made available free of charge in a form that allows users to save and reproduce them.
3. Effective date: 28 August 2026.
